Local, Local, Local and delicious. There was not one thing on the menu that I didn't want to order. I had a piece of meatloaf bigger than my hand, collard greens and rice and gravy. My husband had country fried steak that you could cut with a fork, mashed potatoes and green beans. This mail was served with cornbread butter and sweet tea. And I couldn't leave without a piece of Bread pudding. If you are traveling on the highway don't eat at a chain restaurant right of the exit. Make the 5 minute drive to a real taste of the south! We will be back!

Trip woulda been mediocre if it hadn't been for H&H Soul. The Big House and Rose Hill were wonderful - I worked up a hunger. I asked around 'bout a wholesome meal. "H&H" I was told. Like sharing with family - only BETTER eats!!! NS! Customers friendly; atmosphere home-like; nourishment unbelievable. U in Macon? H&H Soul Food is waiting. You won't be disappointed!

We had to go and I highly recommend you do as well. Limited seating so come prepared to wait, but it was worth it (and not long at all!) Limited hours, review their hours prior to visit. We had a party of 9 and were seated within 20 minutes. Keke was our server and boy, oh boy, she's a true gem! So friendly, personable and kind. Every restaurant needs someone like her!!! We had so many people I couldn't possibly review all of the food, but I can say EVERYONE thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The pickiest eater in our group, 5 years old, cleaned his plate and asked for more. 15 year old said the fried chicken (white meat) was great 10 year old ordered biscuits (it's his favorite!) and he loved them! Ate all three!!! I had the country fried steak (OMG!!!), fried okra, mashed potatoes (highly recommend getting the white gravy on the side to dip your biscuit) and mac and cheese. My sister has never had country fried steak (wild!) and loved it as well. My dad enjoyed the pork chop (no bone!) Everything was soooo good!!! We loved it! Will definitely be back!

The food was amazing, the ambiance authentic and the service was total southern hospitality. Not pictured below is the fried okra my son ordered, it was so delicious and fresh as if someone picked them, chopped them, lightly breaded and fried them. Everything tasted like someone's mom made it from scratch. The cornbread was amazing and tasty, there was real butter on the table and the collards were yummy.

Back again in Macon and a must stop to eat is H and H. I ordered their special/ oxtails with collard greens, red beans and rice. The oxtail tasted so good and tender. A must try if it's listed in their chalk board. What a treat !

When in Macon, you must visit this place if you're wanting a great meal. I walked in, just me and was greeted kindly. The lady seated next to me suggested the pork chop. So I got that and some catfish and sides. Plus some fried green tomatoes. Those were so good. Everything was delicious and came out fast.
